Automatic server backup

If you want to quickly secure your server data, you can start the automatic disk backup service.

Starting the automatic backup service

The whole operation is very simple. To start automatic backup, select the e24cloud Servers tab from the left menu, and then click on the name of the server where you want to run the automatic backup service from your server list.

In the detailed view of your server, find the Automatic backup section, where you can find information about the status of automatic backup and its parameters, and then click on the Start button.

Automatic server backup

A form will appear that allows you to configure your backup in detail. First, specify which disks of your server should be covered by automatic backup. Then, set the Backup frequency interval, i.e., how often backups will be executed. Finally, define the backup copy rotation policy by setting the Number of backup copies to keep. By default, there is one copy, so the last performed automatic backup is replaced with a new one that was executed by the automatic backup function. Confirm your choice by clicking on the Start automatic backup button.

Default backup interval is measured in weeks, so the shortest possible time between two automatic backups is 7 days.

Backup copies performed more frequently than once a week are possible under a long-term contract.

After configuring, the page will reload, and in the Automatic backup section, we will see the settings we previously defined on the configuration form.
